Air Duct Cleaning in Spokane, Washington

Air duct cleaning is one of the most oversold services in home maintenance. Plenty of houses do not need it, and the ones that do usually need it for a specific reason rather than on a schedule.

This page is the honest version. Call (509) 267-6216 and we will tell you whether yours is worth doing.

When it is genuinely worth doing

After a remodel or any construction in the house. Drywall dust gets everywhere and it does not come out of ducts on its own. This is the clearest case.

When you move into a house and have no idea what the last owners did, particularly if they smoked or had pets.

If you can see dust blowing out of the vents, or there is visible debris in the first few feet of duct when you take a register off.

If there has been a rodent or insect problem, or any sign of moisture or mould in the system.

When it is not worth doing

If the house is reasonably new, you change the furnace filter, and nobody has allergy symptoms that track with the heating coming on, you can probably leave it. There is no evidence that routine duct cleaning on a clean system improves anything measurable.

If a company arrives, offers a $69 whole-house special and then finds thousands of dollars of urgent work in your ducts, that is the oldest routine in this trade. Get a second opinion before you agree to anything.

We would rather tell you not to book than sell you a job you do not need. If you call and describe a system that sounds fine, that is what you will hear.

What it costs in Spokane

Job Typical Spokane range
Air duct cleaning, standalone $299 to $499
Air duct cleaning booked with another service $199 to $299
Air duct and dryer vent together $340 to $800
Dryer vent only $100 to $200

These are real Spokane-area figures, not national averages. Typical ranges, not a quote. Price moves with the number of vents, how many furnaces or air handlers there are, and whether the system is accessible.

Dryer vents are the one most people should do

This is the part of the job with an actual safety case behind it. Clothes dryers cause roughly 2,900 house fires a year in the United States, and failure to clean is the leading contributing factor at about a third of them. Incidence is higher in autumn and winter and peaks in January.

If your dryer takes two cycles to dry a load, the outside vent flap barely moves, or the laundry room gets hot while the dryer runs, that is a blocked vent. It is a cheap job and it is the one worth doing on a schedule.

What to expect on the day

Allow two to four hours for a full duct clean depending on the size of the system. We need access to the furnace and to every register, so clear furniture off any vents.

There is noise. The vacuum is loud and it runs for most of the visit.

Questions people ask

How much does air duct cleaning cost in Spokane?

Standalone it is usually $299 to $499. Booked alongside another service it typically drops to $199 to $299. Anything advertised far below that is a lead-in price and the real number arrives once someone is in your house.

How often should ducts be cleaned?

There is no good schedule, which is why nobody can give you a straight number. Do it when there is a reason: a remodel, a move, pets, visible debris, or a rodent problem. Otherwise change your filter and leave it.

Will it help my allergies?

Sometimes, and sometimes not. If the ducts are genuinely dirty it can help. If the problem is a dusty house or an old filter, cleaning the ducts will not fix it. A better filter is cheaper and often more effective.
